Welcome new Taskee JavaScript

January 30th, 2008

We are slowly (ok very slowly :) ) advancing to better and easier Taskee. One of the steps required on this road was to change the outer JavaScript part of Taskee.

What changes can you see?

- Better compatibility with all browsers.
- Improved visual presentation of Taskee and Open button.
- Taskee window can only be moved within the browser visible area.
- The Open button is now drag-able and its position is saved. You can move it to any position of browser’s visible area. Very comfortable.
- Because you can now drag the Open button to any position we removed this setting from the admin panel.

You can try these new changes live directly here at our blog, just click on the Open button.

Be ready for more improvements soon (or maybe no so soon, but be ready anyway :) ).

Taskee Revolution Continues

November 9th, 2007

Thank you for all your great feedback and ideas. We have some revolutionary news for you today.

First, Taskee will remain free service. That would be it to this point.

Secondly, we are preparing big changes in the functionality of Taskee. Since the image is worth 1000 words, here are some screenshots to tease you a little bit.

New Taskee

New Taskee

As you can see, Taskee’s going to have a complete new interface design. The system of assigning tasks and sending info messages will turn into one consistent, easy-to-use messaging system with many improvements.

Why are we doing these changes?
New Taskee will be a lot easier to use with native and user-friendly interface. We’ll also have a built in interactive help system that will lead you through if you are new to Taskee.

We won’t dive deeper in details in this post, but stay tuned as we reveal more information in next blog posts.

Taskee Paid Version Delayed

September 11th, 2007

UPDATE 30.1.2008: Taskee is and will remain a FREE service.

Good news for our users is that you will not have to pay for Taskee for another three months. We don’t quite feel like Taskee should go out of beta yet. We are working hard to improve user experience and make the task management flow even easier for you.

We want to say a big thank you to all of our current users for helping us improving Taskee by sending feedback and ideas. It’s great to see how Taskee proves to be useful for you in different kind of projects and situations. For those who’d like to actively participate in our beta testing we offer free use of Taskee for another full year once it becomes a paid service (contact us for more details).

Finally, a new scheduled date for launching a paid version is 1st of December 2007.

10 Designer’s Checkpoints To Be Aware Of

August 13th, 2007

Taskee was mentioned at one of the well respected Internet magazines SmashingMagazine.com in the list of 10 Designer’s Checkpoints To Be Aware Of.

Once the web design stage is passed, it’s time to perform some usability tests to fix problems and bugs - such as layout structure, spelling, redundancies etc. Since you’ve been developing the page for a while, you know exactly, how it works and what should be done in order to get from point A to point B. However, most users won’t have the knowledge you have, which is why the usability testing phase isn’t only important, but also essential in almost every project.

Problem: such tests can be quite time-consuming.

Not if you use Taskee. This web-tool offers an effective website task management system you, your colleagues and your testers can use to exchange information and discuss some critical issues related to the page design.

No download and no installation are needed. It’s enough to insert one line of code in the page you’d like to test and your users can assign, comment and manage tasks directly on your website. Furthermore, they can discuss the problems they’ve found and offer suggestions and ideas on how the problem can be solved. The latter option can be extremely useful once you design a corporate web site, which involves different target groups or if you’d like to find the best compromise between your professional know-how and your clients’ requirements.

As a project manager you can see a list of URLs that have tasks assigned and be notified about new tasks by email. The current beta-version of Taskee is free and can be used without any restrictions whatsoever.
